Tina Valkanoff has been leading all sorts of activities at East Bay Kerry long before the primaries. For most of October she's been banging heads at the DNC to get mobile phones for the UDCs. Tons of resistance to a simple idea: companies like MetroPCS offer unlimited minutes to anywhere in the US. Rent them for the rest of the campaign and you have no physical installation costs for swing state phone banking, and they're available to coordinate volunteers doing fieldwork on election day.
